Online tributes paid to two Afghanistan soldiers

Lasting Tribute users have been adding their thoughts to two online memorials created for soldiers killed in Afghanistan.

Corporal Terry Webster and Lance Corporal Alan Cochran of the Mercian Regiment died in a gun battle on Friday (4 June).

C M Walbran, formerly of the RAF, wrote on Terry Webster’s tribute page: “Britain is proud of you and I salute you and your fellow comrade that gave his life on the same day.”

Sue Richards said: “God Bless this brave young man and give strength to his family and friends at this sad time. Our hearts go out to you.”

Friend Rebecca Jones said of Alan Cochran: “Alan you were such a sweetheart. I can’t believe you are gone, such a genuine kind hearted person, I will never forget you.”

Rosemary Jones dedicated a poppy in our virtual poppy field to Cpl Cochran.

You can pay tribute to all British soldiers who have died in Afghanistan on Lasting Tribute.
