Conservative leader David Cameron has revealed that he nearly abandoned his political career his son Ivan died last year.
The six-year-old, who suffered with epilepsy and cerebral palsy, died in February 2009.
Mr Cameron thought "to hell with everything" after the death, he told ITV.
But he said eventually he realised, "bit-by-bit, you've got to get on with your life".
He also spoke of how his son’s illness had given him an "enormous spiritual connection" to the NHS.
His wife, Samantha, is currently expecting the couple’s fourth child.
