Isley Brothers bass player dies

Marvin Isley, member of the Isley Brothers, has passed away aged just 56.

Mr Isley had been battling with diabetes for many years.

He joined the Isley Brothers group in 1973 along with older brother Ernie and brother-in-law Chris Jasper, a trio of musicians who joined their three vocalist siblings to bolster the line-up of the well established funk and soul act.

Marvin played on 14 top ten hits between 1973 and 1984, and then rejoined the group in 1991 before his illness ended his playing career in the late nineties.
