Brian Clough statue set for unveiling in Nottingham city centre

Legendary manager of Nottingham Forest Brian Clough will be honoured next month when the city unveils an eight-foot statue of him.

Nottingham will get its first glimpse of the monument on 6 November at a ceremony at the Old Market Square in the city's heart.

Money for the tribute was raised by the Brian Clough Statue Fund, a group of fans who sought donations from supporters and sold special Cloughie jumpers and badges to raise more than £60,000 for the statue.

Brian’s widow Barbara will represent the Clough family the ceremony. She said: “The sculpture will be a fitting tribute and I am really looking forward to unveiling the bronze statue in Nottingham. The small group of volunteers who raised the money and the many fans who supported the fund will be delighted that the unveiling of the statue is about to happen soon.”
